Fast Fuel ®
A yummy alternative to GORP

© Outdoor Adventure Canada 2003

Recently I tested a new endurance bar that recently hit the Canadian marketplace. Fast Fuel ® and Fun Fuel ® are products of Natural Emphasis Ltd., based in Toronto, Ontario.

The bars come in two flavors, Chocolate Crunch and Chocolate Espresso. The company is also releasing a new flavor, Apple Caramel. There are two different bar sizes. The Fast Fuel ® Bars are 65g (2.3 oz) and the Fun Fuel bars are 15 g. There are also organic varieties available.

This Action Snack™ is chock full of nuts and seeds. Ingredients include sunflower seeds, peanuts, almonds, sesame seeds and hempseeds. Hemp seeds are a good source of EFA's (essential fatty acids) and protein. The Fast Fuel bars even have pure vanilla - no imitation flavorings in here!

The Fun Fuel ® bars are handy because of their small size. Often I only eat part of a standard bar and the leftovers end up somewhere at the bottom of my backpack. With Fun Fuel ® this doesn't happen because they are just the right size. I even keep a few in my survival kit.

Crunchy, chewy, chocolatey, yummy! What more can you ask for? We have one tester who is not a fan of energy bars, and she even liked these.
