Place

Whitefish Lake Site #17 in Algonquin Park.

We are going to use this spot again because it is more central for some of those living in Northern and Eastern Ontario. Also it would make the event friendly for the OAC members who would rather hike. We'd have to drive to a spot for paddling or hiking.

Dates

October 3rd to October 5th (Friday and Saturday night)
This should be the peak of Fall Colours in Algonquin Park (or close to it).

Cost

Per Person (age 6-17): $0.95 per night (payable upon arrival)
Per Person (age 18+): $3.95 per night (payable upon arrival)
Additional Vehicles: $2.95 per night (payable upon arrival)

[Note: only three vehicles allowed on site; other vehicles must be parked in an Additional Vehicle Parking area]

OAC covered the campsite fees (which dropped this year). The fees were $136.65 (that's down by over $100).

Activities

Paddling
Day Hikes
Cooking
Photography
Hanging out by the campfire
Other activites to be announced

If you are coming to the event please post your intention in this thread.

Thanks

Did someone say snorin', well I'm in then. We need that other roomie of ours, you know Hillbilly. That would make a great contest!! I'm sure there will be a few judges who'll be up (not buy choice).

Sue and I will have just gotten back from our trip to Vegas so I can't promise anything. If we do show up it would be just for a fall color drive through the park stopping in to make an appearance and say HI to everyone.

I think Donny is become a non-attendee to the functions lately.
Maybe he does not like our company.

Hey ya Donny (and Sue) - it will be great to see you (and I didn't book the FOG on Sue's Birthday this time even). I hope you can pop by for a visit as we'd enjoying seeing you.

I will make it if I do not go to a reunion in Missouri that I have been invited to.
OK, no jokes, it is not a Missouri Mule Reunion either, Jester.
It is my old Navy ships 40 Anniversary Reunion. The U.S.S. Davidson DE 1045 was commissioned in 1968. I looks like about 500 old crew members will be attending and about 100 from the time I was aboard her. I know it would only be a bunch of EX drunken sailors getting together and hashing out old times but it would be a once in a life time event.

Just a note... because this will be booked under OAC, as it has been in the past, I am going to be doing things a little differently. This year each attendee will be required to sign a liability waiver at all OAC Gatherings.

Also, while I don't mind the events being mentioned on other sites such as CCR, I insist that all attendees post in this thread on this site if they are intending on coming to the event. That will make it easier to keep track of what is going on and who is attending.

Hope you all understand.

If anyone has a problem with the need for waivers and/or posting here please speak to me privately about it. My email is laurie@outdooradventurecanada.com - thanks.

Bill, that sounds like an amazing opportunity. Tough choice though ... drunken canoeists or drunken sailors? Hmmm.

Laurie, that is completely understandable.
