Laurie Ann,
We're not so sure we are going to get that Kelty after all. Dusty's review of the MEC Wanderer 4 has us seriously considering that tent. I think we are going to sit on it for awhile before we make our choice but once we do we will post pictures, I know everyone likes to see pics of others setups. :)

Mike , We have an Outbound 6 man that we have used for group trips and car camping. In fact when Coonette, the dogs and I canoe camp we take it. It is tall enough to stand in and one of the dryest tents we have owned. We call it "The Silver Dome" Great Tent it was a good price, We Retired it last year it is starting to suffer from UV. Next to the Crappie Tire 4 man A Frame we had in the good old days, its the best tent we ever owned!

Good decision there Mike!
You'll soon come to see that like most gear/equipment, it's all about " Compromise "
Size-weight-features-price-quality-design etc, will all come into play, making your tent purchase one to really think/ponder about.

Among my 'Bevy of Tents', the 2nd tent I bought was a Outbound Hercules Clip 3, back in 91. I've replaced the fly once due to UV damage and since I lived 4-5 hours from the manufacturer/distributor, I had a couple of zippers replaced a couple of times,(under their 'Life Time' Warranty) .
It has seen countless car/backpacking/canoetrips and adventures and is still in service to this day, although getting a bit on the 'tired' side of it's life.
Because of it's stake out designed vestibules, it allowed water/rain to enter the inner tent when entering/exiting the tent.

Good solid 'Middle of the Pack' tent, which was fairly cool/warm inside, due to it's silver fly.
Rather expensive in it's day, for a 3 man tent that weighs just over 8.5 lbs/3.86 kg. I paid $410.00 with taxes, in 1991

Good choice Mike. I'm sure it will work well for you. It's great when you can talk with someone who has personal experience with a tent too.

Hey Dusty ...it looks like a "Mini me" Silver Dome!!! What a great tent! Now you have me thinking I should see if I can replace the fly. I'll go to there web site to see. LOL it is the tent of the Bear spray story I told. We Replaced it with at Sierra Designs 4. something. and it is not near the tent!!

I wish you luck with the fly.
When I went to get my zippers repaired, I enquired as to if they had a fly kickin around to fit mine and I managed to snag the last one.

I find the Sierra Designs tents over rated/priced, although they do make a sturdy frame.

I find the MEC line of tents are great value/quality for the money and well designed/built. Not the lightest weight wise, but are built to last years.
As a matter of fact, I added another tent to my bivy this past weekend, one that I think is just about perfect for motorcycle touring/canoe tripping and don't know why I waited so long to buy myself one, as I've purchased this one for a gift for others before.

How is the MEC Wanderer 4 with condensation? It looks like there are no screens except for the doors and I'm wondering how it would be during our summer camping trips.

Leave the doors open, you'll be fine.

Being a larger tent and with 2 doors that have large windows, you can unzip the window 'panels' on them and have no/little condensation.

I never experiened any condensation using it for a month of motorcycle touring to the SE States, Ontario and back home here.

The only reason I had a tarp set up over the tent in this picture(Watkins Glen NY) was because it was raining and I HATE packing up a wet tent!!
