SealLine Canoe Seat
A little comfort for the wilderness tripper

© Outdoor Adventure Canada

One of the things that I have complained about the most on long canoe trips is not being able to sit properly. I am quite tall and sometimes I like a little back support. I was browsing www.seallinegear.com and I decided I would try their canoe seat.

I started by using the seat in camp and it was wonderful. The seat is adjustable and you can even lay it flat. Much of my canoeing is in the Canadian Shield so having something between my behind and the rock was great. If our son, age 4, is traveling with us I will often lay it flat for him to have a nap.

Then I decided to use it in the canoe. On long paddling days, the back support was much appreciated. The sides did not interfere with paddling and the map pocket was handy. For portages I would just leave it strapped in the canoe or biner the seat to the back of my canoe pack.

I would highly recommend this product; however, if you are tripping with a partner, a word of warning… buy two!
